Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some sould to repentance; and this is my joy.

WE HAVE PICTURES!!

May 12, 2013

It was nice talking to you today! so, this week, there were 16 baptisms in our mission. Which is a long way away from the 63 people we had lined up two weeks ago. But it is 16 more people who entered the gate back to their Heavenly Father, so we cant feel bad about that.

Also, guess what? We got another foreign investigator. this one is from Mongolia. He's way funny. He speaks English, and he just says the funniest things sometimes. Japanese people don't really tell jokes or have a good sense of humor, but this guy does. And he is really searching for truth too, so hes a strong investigator. at this point, we teach like 5 investigators in English, which is pretty crazy.

Well, those are just a few things that I missed today in our phone call. have a good week!

Hello everybody! Sorry, time is a little short today. We're going to a beach party today in Akashi for preparation day! :D Our whole zone is going to be there Plus the Assistants, the Kobe elders, and President Zinke and his wife. :D IS going to be way fun. I'm excited.

Mom, I'm glad that you are doing good at your new work place. That's a good thing to hear. Hope that they are all really nice. Feel free to brag about your son in Japan at any time.
Sounds like things are going pretty well at home. Isn't that one direction concert coming up soon? hahaha. Or are you guys over one direction by now?

This past week in Kakogawa was pretty great. We found like 8 new investigators! They were pretty much all former investigators that we just called out of the area book and were able to meet, so that's way good. We met this one guy, Ko, who is from China. He met the missionaries up in Tokyo, and then moved to Kakogawa and met them here, but then got busy and had to stop, it looks like. But we called him, and he and his new wife (just got married like a month ago) met us at the eki and then came with us to the church, and both became new investigators! Its way cool, and I'm excited for them.

Also, I finally had some Japanese sushi. It was pretty cool, but I was so confused at first on how to eat it. Its not like Sakura where they just bring the sushi right to you. They have these conveyor belts that go next to all the tables, and they just make sushi and put it on there. Then you just take off what you want. Each plate is 105 yen, so in the end, they just count how many plates you have and that's the price.

Well, hmm... Time is pretty short today. sorry that this email will be short, but you know, I talked with you guys last week, so that has to count for something. Hope you're all doing good at home. give everyone my love. well, have fun this week. Do you have any questions you want answered next week? If so, send them here! Alright, see you!

NEW COMPANION!!

AH! Before I forget, Dad, I've got some questions for you. Also, to answer your question, it took ten days for your letter to get to me. Ok, so when were you a missionary? What areas did you serve in? The Bishop in my Ward was a missionary in Fukuoka about the same time that you were. Did you by chance know a Saido Choro? That would be pretty cool.
Well, this past week was fairly interesting. Waterbury長老 left tuesday morning. But I didnt get my new companion until Friday morning.  So what did I do, you ask? I went with a Japanese Elder to his area. A small town called Banshu-Akou. And let me emphasize the small part. Super inaka. Around the church and the missionary apartment wasn't bad, but as we rode out farther, it was just all fields, and a few houses. So I spent Tuesday-Friday morning there, with a short break on Tuesday night to come back to Kakogawa to teach Eikaiwa. Pretty exciting stuff.
Then on Friday, we went to 三ノ宮 (sannomiya) eki in Kobe. There was just a large gathering of missionaries, so I saw some people I knew and talked until my new companion, Hayward長老 came. We stayed there for a little bit, and then came back to Kakogawa and got back to work. I went over all of our investigators and what we had done for them. We made plans, and got to work. Its been pretty fun. He's way different from Waterbury長老, but he's still way awesome.
So, in 13 days, we have Mother's Day! Which means that our Yakusokusha is going to get baptized! :D Actually, today at 3, we're going to teach him. He's way cool. He came to church yesterday, and he's been reading the Book of Mormon and praying. I'm way excited for him.
I have to say that my favorite picture out of all those prom pictures was the one with Dad and his shotgun. Woohoo!
Yeah, Japan is pretty awesome. Things are definitely getting better! I'm excited to be a part of this work! Well, I'll keep working hard this week, and next week I'll have a ton of things to write to you! Keep up the good work at home. Love you all!
